Figure Caption    (A) Paired and unpaired strath fluvial terraces of the Kuitun He at the Dushanzi anticline on the north flank of the Tian Shan. The numbers behind terrace labels (i.e., I, II, III) are terrace heights above the modern river bed. The Kuitun He has incised roughly 150 m into the late Quaternary river gravels and underlying southward-dipping late Cenozoic bedrock since the abandonment of river terrace II. Dark gravels on the top of the hills mark remnants of terrace III, the highest and also the oldest preserved terrace of the Kuitun He.
